Confirmation

There are soooo many wonderful pictures on your collective blogs that instead of commenting individually, I will just say that they confirm the fact that we have, by far, the cutest great grandchildren in existence. (I am not prejudiced, either)

We enjoyed the trip to Las Vegas even if BYU slipped up. I was disappointed in the bowl itself. They had half a dozen fireworks and a couple of minor events (such as phony sumo wrestling). Other than that the school bands provided the entertainment. You would think in the "Entertainment Capital of the World" they could come up with something.

The driving was excellent. Not a trace of snow anywhere (which is not good for southern Utah which is much too dry so far). We had very good accomodations at Circus Circus. Of course the food was excellent. How many of you remember the trip to San Diego that we made as a family to the Holiday Bowl. We stopped at the Circus circus buffet on the way home and Joey decided to moon the place. (he must have been 2 or 3)

We had a nice Christmas but missed all of you "away" folks. It was fun to read the blogs and Christmas letters that you sent and , again, especially great to see the pictures. We will miss you at our New Years day lunch but we will think of you. Have a very HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Diet rersults, part II

I thought it might be interesting to pass on the reults of G'ma's dedication and hard work. We went to the Dr. to get the results of her blood test and he was nearly jumping up and down. He said it was so rare that he saw someone actually bring thier "numbers" down with diet. All of her readings were in the normal or better range. This was after a 30 pound weight loss. I'm impressed!! However, there is not going to be a let up. She is determined to continue to lose and keep in the normal range.
On a different note, we are anticipating our very short vacation to Las Vegas to see BYU play California in the Las Vegas Bowl. Sue and Peter are going too. We offered game tickets in lieu of their Christmas checks and they jumped at the chance. In fact, Pete, is counting December 22 as Christmas Day.
In case we don't blog again soon.....MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

Great Experiences

We've had two very excellent experiences this last week. Thursday night we attended the presentation "Savior of the World" at the Conference Center Theater. It's about the fourth time we've seen it but each time it is so very spiritual. They make a few changes each year and it is so well done. We are continually amazed at the plethora of talent in this area. Sunday night we went to the Conference Center to view the First Presidency Christmas Devotional. We normally opt to stay home and watch on TV. We had an opportunity to go with some friends so took them up on the offer. Although it was freezing cold walking from Social Hall Avenue, where we parked, it was so good to be in the room with the prophet. When he quoted First Nephi, we could see that he was not reading it on a prompter or from the podium. He was quoting from memory. At that age I will feel very fortunate if I can remember who I am. There are some advantages to living in Zion.
