Sunday

April I do a lot better teaching than playing the piano! Wish I was as talented as you are. The main thing I do as a teacher is ask questions and let the class teach themselves.

I do like not having to get up so early on Sundays and not having 20 people wanting my attention before and after Church! It's nice to have some time to really study the scriptures. Not that I am that good at it but hopefully that will continue to improve.

G'pa is really doing well. He goes back to the doctor Tuesday for a check but he seems to be doing fine. Actually there has been very little taking care of anybody with this round of surgerys. Eye surgery just requires drops and some protection for a week or so.

With Thanksgiving upon us, I am so grateful for our family. You are all such good people. When G'pa and I think of how different it would have been without the gospel in our lives...
Hope you all have a great holiday.

Gospel Doctrine Teacher

G'ma taught her first Gospel Doctrine lesson in her new calling, Sunday. She wouldn't blow her own horn but she did a great job. Many others said so too, so I'm not just prejudiced.

Time to post

Well, it's high time we contributed to the airways. It has been soooooo busy this past two weeks.
I conducted three funerals the past 8 days.!!! G'ma was still Relief Society President for the first one. The next day we released her and Monday an old time ward member died. We had his funeral on Friday Morning at a mortuary. Then Tuesday, a sister died. Her son-in-law is Elder Bruce D. Porter of the Seventy. So yesterday, we had a big funeral. We had four General Authorities in attendance. Elder Porter, Elder (President) Didier of the Seventy and Elders Neil Anderson and Bruce Callister of the Seventy. Elder Didier read a letter from the First Presidency about it being Elder Porter's mother and about her life, etc. (Crazy thing, her husband of 52 years and a real great guy is a non member having resisted a lot of attempts at conversion.) So naturally, I had to speak at each funeral. I felt like announcing today at Sacrament Meeting that there would be no more for some time!!!We had a dinner for 95 family members after the funeral so it was really a very busy day. G'ma felt strange on Friday and Saturday because she did not have to be in the middle of the dinners, etc. Quite honestly, I feel really good about being Bishop again. It is a tough and a huge ward but the people are so wonderful. The work is hard but the pay is great.
So, we've missed a couple of birthdays, but will hustle and catch up.
