Second Chance????

It's been awhile since we blogged so we thought we'd do so. The picture is (of course) of Vaiola Grow, her sister Ruby and David. Scott has gone to Washington DC to work (has a great job). Ruby came to stay with Vai while she finishes school. She just has one semester left and then they will go to join Scott. They (at least she) plans on coming back here as soon as possible.

The title "Second Chance" refers to Gpa's church calling. He will be set apart as Bishop of the ward on the 15th of October. Our Bishop and wife have been called to serve in the Temple Presidency in Ghana. I couldn't tell them I was too old since our Stake President is a year older than I. Gma is anticipating a release which will happen. It has been a very demanding three plus years and she deserves a break.

I face this with some degree of fear since our ward has over 630 members and tons of welfare. But the Lord will provide and I'm sure it will be a great experience. Speaking of great experiences, I hope you all were able to hear Elder Ballard's talk at conference (plus the others of course) His was just so powerful and told it like it should be.

Oh, another tidbit of news. A week ago Monday, my golf clubs were stolen from outside the clubhouse!! Now that is bad!! The good news is our homeowners insurance covered the loss and I was able to replace them.

You will definitely be a wonderful bishop this time around as well. I'm sure the ward will be greatly blessed by your leadership. I'm also glad that Gma is going to get a bit of a break. Well earned, indeed.

Good luck grandpa. I am sure the Lord will bless you for your willingness to serve. I am glad gma will get a break. I am also glad you got brand new clubs!! If that's not turning something bad into something good, I don't know what is! It is fun to see Voila and Ruby and a picture of David too.

Are you sure somebody stole your clubs Grandpa? Or did you ask someone to "misplace" them so you could get new ones? Your ward is lucky to be getting such a great bishop, even though it means losing their great Relief Society president.
